The pictures were like a punch to the gut. Michael, the pillar of the community, the devoted father, was revealed to be something else entirely. The photos showed him at a gambling den, laughing over cards. There was a woman, not his wife, clinging to his arm.

A chill ran down his spine. He couldn't reconcile the images with the man he’d loved. He sat down abruptly, the chair creaking under his weight. His hands were clenched.

He needed to know more, but the thought of digging deeper terrified him.
